Folkdance

With her veil.... looks better I think

     I was messing around trying to design some new X-Men members that I ended up just creating new characters for myself. This is Folkdance from the Philippines.

     Her design is based off the costumes worn in Filipino folkdances (where her codename is derived from), namely Singkil. I liked the dress like suit and the "head cape" (veil).

     She is supposed to be super graceful/ agile/ and other abilities I haven't quite settled with yet.... Kinda like a Filipina Psylocke. It took a few tries to get her to the point that I like...

     Quite different from a previous Filipiniana design I did. I'll draw her again in action poses.

Agni

     I was trying to do some re-designs for X-Men characters but ended up just creating new ones... This was supposed to be Thunderbird (III).

     I ended up creating, Agni, based on the Indian God. He creates fire (and flaming arms) out of the silver panels on his costume.

3AS Zine preview- Elementals

     Three Armed Squid will have its 3rd issue sometime Early-mid 2014. This year's theme is the Four Elementals! I got the fire one, Salamander.

     I can't wait for the issue to come out and see what the other contributors has in store. You can also get our back issues online.

Degenerate Craft Fair 2013

     Something to do!!! Degenerate Craft Fair will be on Dec. 14-15 @ Lafayette Street. I will be sharing a table with my collective, Three Armed Squid!

Nature of Nature #1 (printed!)

     I've had to put aside the second issue of Nature of Nature, since I was pretty busy the last month. I did, however, finally got the first issue riso-printed thanks to Eric Taylor @ SouthSprings.

     Happy Halloween!!!! A lil quick drawing. This month has been pretty hectic. I got a new illustration gig that is taking up most of my time.

September Update...

     September (and the latter half of August) was a hectic set of days... I've been working on the second issue of Nature of Nature. After designing the characters, I started inking the pages and I'm almost done with it.

     I recently just came back from vacation... which I might travel blog later on. I came back and decided to update my portfolio by using these 2 social media-type art sites: Behance and Dribbble. So please add me if you have those sites.

"Bug Test"

Starting Issue #2 of Nature of Nature... this time dealing with bugs and fungus.

I'm planning out this new issue with 2 colors... probably Black and Red.

'Still trying to figure out how the overall look of the "fungus" will be.

Lineart or NO lineart. Then, I gotta design the bugs...

All of these are done with ink wash and pen nibs.

It was really fun experimenting with different styles.

Nature of Nature preview

     Starting a new mini comic called, Nature of Nature. It was inspired by a recent sketch painting I did of a Bunny and a Bear.

I'm experimenting with this scratchy-type lines with pen nibs on watercolor. Then, I'm gonna ink wash it.
