March Update...

     I've been working on some pet projects that I'm not quite ready to post just yet. But I have been re-posting some old artworks from my DeviantArt site on Tumblr and also some quick updates.

     I'm also gonna be at this year's MoCCA Art Festival at Table D12 with Alexandra Beguez... 2/3 of Three Armed Squid representing! We'll have our new zines. If not, there's always the online store.

3AS Zine preview- Elementals

     Three Armed Squid will have its 3rd issue sometime Early-mid 2014. This year's theme is the Four Elementals! I got the fire one, Salamander.

     I can't wait for the issue to come out and see what the other contributors has in store. You can also get our back issues online.

Grand Comics Festival Aftermath

     This weekend was fun. Exhausting, but fun! Grand Comics Festival is created/ curated by Pat Dorian and hosted by Bird River Studios. Pat did a fantastic job setting this whole festival up, making exhibiting very affordable for the artists. Free Admission was also a great thing to have as it did not drive people away and took away from the artists (like Mocca....).

     It was a small fair but packed a LOT of extremely talented artists. I was very honored to be in the same room as them, being one of the few "emerging artists", in the sea of Meredith Grans (fellow SVA Class of '06 and creator of Octopus Pie), Andrea Tsurumis (MoCCA Fest winner!), CM Butzers (Rabid Rabbit and a cool mentor), Anuj Shrestha (Genus), Jess Ruliffsons (one of the nicest cartoonists I've ever met and is making comics about veterans) and so many more. It was extremely hard to restrain myself not to buy everything in sight! Lol.

   This is a first year show, so I didn't really know what to expect from it. The space was great. The weather was amazing. I knew that we weren't gonna get the Mocca Art Fest or Brooklyn Comic Fest crowd (which sadly ended, before I got the chance to visit!), but it still had a pretty good crowd. Sunday was a bit slower than Saturday, but it was the same as previous fests I've done. Hopefully there will be more Grand Comics Festival to come in the future!

    I once again tabled with my fellow Three Armed Squid (or 3AS), Alexandra Beguez and Estrella Vega. It's always great to hang out with them since we're all so busy with work and personal projects to see each other outside of art fests. Thank yous for everyone who picked up our anthology! We're very excited to be working on our third issue with some new and amazing contributors. Stay tuned!

     It's always hard to gauge which kind of merch people get on these festivals. I sold a bunch of zines, prints, and cards that nobody picked up on the last Festival. But I also had things that people bought on previous fests that were not picked up on this Fest. But regardless, I'm glad that people came by my table in general and liked my work enough to get something. Also, THANK YOU very much to everyone that came by and chatted with me about my work.

     Lastly, I sat next to Chandler Moses (representing Hic & Hoc) who did a portrait sketch of me on the slow minutes of the fest! Lol.

Grand Comics Festival 2013

     NY Post and Bust did a nice write up for this weekend's Grand Comics Festival. The festival is the brainchild of our awesome friend, Pat Dorian of Doom & Gloom Comics. The event will be at 343 Grand Street, Brooklyn, NY from 11am-7pm.

I will be there with my silkscreen prints, books/ zines, and cards.

My fanart prints will also be there. Archangel from the X-Men, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, etc...!!!

My fellow Three Armed Squid squids will also be there with our Anthology zines.

After MoCCA Art Fest....

     MoCCA was a great weekend...!!! I had a few inquiries of where peeps can get my stuff. And those who couldn't make it or was unable to visit us-- please be patient. I will have an online store open soon enough!

     The best part of course was being able to chat up other artists and visitors who came by our table. Thank you for all the love and support you showed Table #D106!!! I hope you'll visit us again on the next fest.

 
     And like always, you can't leave the fest without the stuff!!! Some great stuff from Pat Dorian, Nate Bear, etc!!! My only regret was that I was unable to walk around more and see/ meet the other exhibitors.

     Three Arm Squid finally got our table # for the Mocca Fest 2013!!! It's D106 and I will be sharing it with my squids- Alexandra Beguez and Estrella Vega. I'll have some new works to sell.

MOCCA 2013

     This spring I will be tabling at Mocca 2013 with my fellow 3 Armed Squids. This festival will also see the debut of a few new projects. Including the 2nd issue of our Collective's Anthology-

     And, this summer-- the first ever Grand Comics Festival!!! This festival is being curated by the awesome, Pat Dorian. Check it out! They are still taking exhibitors. Hopefully, I get some new stuff for this event as well.

3-Armed Squid Comic

Here's a little preview of my comic, WINTER. It's for the 3-Armed Squid anthology. I'm using the character from an ink wash sketch I did awhile back.

3-Armed Squid Preview

Me and a few artist friends- Alexandra Beguez, Kim Ku, and Estrella Vega started a new anthology comic, called the Three-Armed Squid. These are a few illustrations for it.

It will be debuting on Mocca 2012.
